I’ve decided that it’s time to change things up a bit. So, I’ve decided to tweak some aspects of my personal style. What better way to do that than to incorporate some a the new trends in fashion?

While I’m more than satisfied with the way things are now, I just like to try something different every once in a while. Mind you, I’m not very gung-ho when it comes to adopting every trend that comes my way. I prefer being myself, not a replica of every runway model and print advertisement. With that in mind, I went to check out some new things to try [in moderation, of course].

1. The first trend that I wanted to try my hand at is new take on meswear for women. I love the sleek lines and sophisticated strength of a good jacket, some tailored pants, and a bold tie and pocket square. This one will probably have to wait until after the baby, though, for [very] obvious reasons.
2. The next new thing that I’d like to try is the flowy dress craze. Not only would it give me more room to grow [and growing I am], but it would be great for dinner parties and events that I’m coordinating for clients. Good camoflauge material, and not the Army kind [though I'm used to that as well].
3. Another new aspect that I’d like to incorporate into my wardrobe are saris. I love saris. The fact that it’s a traditional style of dress and yet is so sexy and feminine is amazing to me. I love the fact that you can wear one and be almost completely covered, yet feel like an earth goddess incarnated. I wore one for my prom, and I loved the feeling – and the extra attention.

I think I’ll look into those before I go any further – especially with the baby and all. Let me know what new style or trend you’d like to go for in the comments section.

 It’s Valentine’s Day, and I must say – I have an extreme love-hate relationship with this Hallmark holiday. [Don't we all?]

On one hand, Valentine’s is one of the busiest seasons for me [my seasons are based around holidays and events in my clients' lives]. Yet, on the other, I hate the holiday. It’s so juvenile and moronic to me. But, that doesn’t stop me from buying the chocolates. [What can I say - I love chocolate.]

So, in light of this seesaw of emotions towards this love-filled day, I’ve decided to shop around for some great things that I can do as a single woman [and soon-to-be mother - just about seven months now] on Valentine’s Day.

1. There’s always the classic movie night. But instead of some feature-length film, I’d rather watch Sex and the City. What’s a movie night without your favorite girlfriends?
2. I had the vague idea for a Singles’ Mixer. I could definitely use this company. Plus, it would give me a chance to throw another great shindig for all my friends. Who knows – maybe I’ll give it some more thought.
3. Of course, there’s every girl’s fallback – shopping. While the mall may be a little crazy with all the late gift-buyers, I’m sure that I’d have some great fun buying new stuff. And I may even catch a sale or two.
