One of today’s It-Girls that I’m really looking forward to seeing more about is Rihanna. The young singer may have some good songs, but I love her new sense of style even more.

Some of my friends and family members say that I resemble her, but I just don’t see it. Though I wouldn’t complain if I did – the girl is gorgeous. But I digress.

I’ve seen this girl everywhere – on magazine covers, tv shows, and in her music videos. I must say, I love what’s she’s done with herself.

I especially love her hair and makeup. And while I’m not ready to cut my hair again just yet, I would love to steal her hairstyle. Maybe I’ll find a good stylist that can give me a similar feel without sacrificing the length.

It seems rather silly, I know, but I love Ikea.

Every chance I get [which isn't often, unfortunately] I take a few hours to walk around Ikea. It’s like a maze of greatness. I was there over the weekend, helping a friend of mine pick out furniture and accessories for her apartment. It’s times like that that make being a personal concierge a breeze. She’s extremely picky, and I’m just used to making the decisions on my own. But I digress.

Ikea has to be one of the best places on earth when it comes to room planning and interior design. I mean, with all the different options and product lines, it’s just a matter of knowing what you want and finding it. And their naming system is so unique [a great branding tool, I must say]. It’s part of the reason that I recommend Ikea to so many of my friends and clients alike.

For instance, another friend of mine was looking for a desk. Seeing that he’s over six feet tall and loves to sit at his computer all day, he took my advice and went to Ikea [smart man]. Of course, he ended up calling me from the store – Ikea can be a little intimidating for first-timers – wondering where to go and what to look for. From my office I was able to lead him to the perfect desk, giving him the name of the item so that he could ask the lovely people with the blue and yellow shirts. He loves his desk, and now he’s looking for more great finds from Ikea to fill his apartment with.

It just goes to show you, Ikea is a room planner’s heaven.

 I heard about some upcoming “cinematic adventures” [yes, I do love Dane Cook], and I’m so excited to see them.

The first one is Sex and the City: The Movie. If you know me at all, you’ll know that I am a die-hard SitC fan – I’m actually looking for a good poster of the girls to put in my office. Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte all play integral roles in my daily decision-making process. I like to think of myself as all four girls rolled into one. So, you’ll understand why I’m sitting on pins and needles about this movie. After all, look at the title of this blog.

The next movie that I’ll be in line for is The Other Boleyn Girl. It stars Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johannson, and Eric Bana, and from watching the trailer, I’m bound to enjoy it. It’s based on a novel by Philippa Gergory, and it’s looks stunning.

Another movie that I’m dying to see is Iron Man. While I didn’t get into the story that it’s based on, I do love comics [I know, I know], and I’m really excited about seeing just how well this movie turns out. The trailer looks promising so far. I’m not sure if I agree with Robert Downey, Jr. taking the lead role, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

So, what movies have peaked your interest for this year?

 One of the events that I’m already excited about this year is the Bridal Extravaganza Show. Not that I’m getting married, or know anyone who is at the moment. I just love going to this show.

I’m a big fan of weddings. Not for all the mushy ceremony stuff – that I can do without. It’s the details that impress me. It’s always a symphony of carefully planned steps and ideas, and they all come together so flawlessly [when the planning is done right]. I’ve always loved planning wedding and all the events that go on around the special day. I’m especially found of bachelorette parties. It allows me to flex certain muscles that most of my clients don’t see. [Wink wink]

P.S. I finally found the perfect side project to do myself from ReadyMade magazine. I’m going to make a homemade letterpress. It should be fun, and I may be able to use it with the stationery shop.

 I found a great new blog the other day, I’m I think it’s absolutely hilarious. Just look at the title:

“Stuff White People Like.”

While I’m not one to differentiate based on color or religion or anything of that nature [I base my discrimination on stupidity], this site is still a crackup to me. From my family’s perspective, I’m just as white as they come, so I guess I’d be lumped into this blog’s topic of discussion as well.

The blog’s creator, a mysterious “clander” has started a list of articles on things White people like. He calls it a “scientific approach.” I just thinks it’s funny, seeing that a lot of the things on this site are things that I deal with everyday with a lot of my clients.

The blog is just getting started, but they have a few posts so far. If you ever need an explanation or a good giggle, check it out.
